Product Info :: Fixation: Interface Strength

Goal
Ensure that TFAS® is well fixed in the cement mantle and that the cement mantle is well fixed in the bone.

Conclusion
The attachment of the TFAS® to the cement can take 2 ½ to 3 times its maximum duty loads without debonding. TFAS® can withstand more than twice the load it takes to detach a pedicle screw fusion system (the current standard of care) from bone without loosening from the spine.

 Bone-Cement Interface Strength
  • Supports ≥ 2.5 maximum static in vivo loads
  • Supports ≥ 3x maximum fatigue in vivo loads
  • Supports ≥ 2x ultimate fixation strength of pedicle screw based fixation system in bone
  • No dissociation or failure between bone cement and anchor under maximum static loading
  • Strength and stability at maximum ADL loads for 10-million cycles
